Get real about product carbon footprints
The true climate impact of a product can be way off when it’s built on spend-based data. It’s time to get real—and leave the guessing to crystal balls and coin flips. The Pivot’s Lennart Bjurström’s advice? Trade the guesswork for product-level facts. Align on a single playbook and an IT solutions supplier that is PACT-compliant. And make it easy for every team, buyer, and supplier to act on the same trusted numbers, wherever they sit in the value chain.

This scene reminded me of some conversations I had during the week, which could fit the pages of John Elkington’s new book, Tickling Sharks.

Balancing the carrot and stick for transformation
Call it a carrot and stick, or push and pull. But transformation to more sustainable economies relies on balancing both incentives for innovation and a call for greater transparency. Right now, we’re drowning in efforts to meet the latter, at the expense of the former.
